Description

Welcome to Our Blue Sky 20 RIGID CRUSHER!

We offer four amazing color options in this model to get your little rider excited about their new bike! If your partner put you on a mission to find something really awesome in cool kids' colors, this is your child’s next 20-inch bike.

This bike is assembled just for you in Colorado (from the frame up), so PLEASE order well ahead of spring. We get backed up once everyone starts thinking, "What's the best 20-inch bike I can get for under $1000 that has a super wide 11–38 gearing range, Shimano brakes, and three tire choices that would be best for my young rider?" This is it!

***Note on the Turquoise/Pink bike build - we CAN build this one up with our direct mount cranks and chainring. This has an upgraded cost, and hence priced more. If you MUST have a turquoise/pink rigid build, this is how we will sell it to you.****

Tires you can choose for this build:

  • We have Aggressive - Kenda Regolith 2.2" TR Tubeless Bead (Set up tubeless at not extra cost this month with Orange Seal Endurance formula)
  • We have FAST XC - Kenda Booster 2.2" TR Tubeless Bead (Set up tubeless at not extra cost this month with Orange Seal Endurance formula)
  • Bike Path, light trails, commuter to school - Schwalbe Little Joe 2.0" tires (Set up with TUBES, not tubeless ready tire design -$49.00 by selecting this checkbox)

Looking for a 20" bike with a suspension fork? Check out our Blue Sky 20 Custom Builds page here!

The Blue Sky 20 LTD offers the highest performance-to-value ratio in the 20" category! With 4 cool color options in stock to choose from, Jagwire slick-shifting cables designed for small hands to be able to shift easily, a wide-range 11-38 cassette, and Shimano MT201 hydraulic disc brakes — this is THE best 20" bike to elevate your kids' riding experience to the next level! Shimano brakes!

SHIMANO Hydraulic Disk Brakes Standard
We use PREMIUM components all the way around to create the lightest bike possible. Small details like category leading Jagwire slick cable housing provide easy shifting abilities where kids with small hands and maybe not as strong can actually shift gears!  Every detail has been taken into consideration so your kid has the absolute best riding experience. Pretty much every other kids bike on the market doesn't take this into consideration and just slap the cheapest shifter and even cheaper cable housing to hit a low price point. Cheeping out and skimping on quality parts is NOT our business model. We spec the absolute best on our Blue Sky 20 bikes.

Our Blue Sky 20 LTD uses the new 9 speed Microshift Advent 20" drivetrain, 11-38 cassette, our superlight cranks with 28 tooth chainring, lightweight wheels and the ability to even have a water bottle (even though the real estate is pretty tight in there, see below for confirmed bottle/cage fitment).

Assembled to Order in Colorado, USA
We are a small family business focused on building the best kids mountain bikes possible. We truly geek out on this stuff, just see our Instagram page for some examples. Each and every Trailcraft bike is meticulously assembled to order in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. You can take comfort in knowing that when you place your bike order, your child's new dream bike is built by our master builders from the frame up, using American labor.

Are you in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, or other markets where you run your brakes opposite us? Left brake, rear - Right brake, front? No problem! We can set your brakes up MOTO style (as we call it) with ease!

This process may take a few more days compared to purchasing a "X brand" kids bike with one build option, most likely built and boxed in the Far East. There's nothing wrong with that, but we operate a bit differently; we're more of a custom shop. As a result, our bikes are significantly lighter, feature meticulous attention to detail, and boast higher quality. However, building a lightweight bike of this caliber takes a bit longer and requires some planning on your side. We promise the wait is worth it, and these bikes will elevate your kids' riding to the NEXT level!

Water Bottle Compatibility

"Once in a while, a bike comes along and blows your mind; this is one of them. Achieving a weight of 19 lbs makes it the lightest in class for 20-inch hardtails. With outstanding geometry, a phenomenal fork, and top-quality build, this bike is worth every penny for families who live and breathe mountain biking." - Colin, The Bike Dads

Fantastic bike for my 6 year old! Easy assembly. Tubeless tires can be inflated with a floor pump out of the box.

If you are reading this it’s because you want to justify your purchase, so here you go, pull the trigger, this bike is awesome, my daughter was nervous about riding this bike at first but after a few minutes she realized how stable and capable it is. Now it’s “can we ride today?” 24/7. These bikes are well thought out from the brakes to the saddle to the shifter. Being light weight and easy to take care of is just one of many highlights of this bike. So hear me out, you will like this bike and yes it’s worth it!

My experience with trail riding is nil, so when I needed to purchase for my daughter after she started lessons, I had great confidence ordering here. We purchased a Blue Sky 20 after asking a few questions about if the shifter would suit my 7 year olds small hands. The order took less than a week to arrive via FedEx once I placed my order.

My daughter had politely asked if we were going to be buying a bike, that it please be pink. Again, Trail Craft came through for us as one of the few that offered pink as a color option.

The assembly instructions offer a video via QR code. This bike weighed half of her last bike she had been trying to ride, allowing her to ride longer and faster. She also was able to shift easily while riding, something she was unable to do with her previous bike!

Fantastic overall quality, super light and VERY bright color! My 5 year old absolutely loves it (and as an avid rider so do I)!! Shipment to Switzerland was flawless – well packed and straightforward assembly! 10 stars and my most sincere compliments to the Trailcraft team for the amazing product.

Bought this 20” Mtn bike for my granddaughter. After much research since she began riding at age 2 (a 12” bike) I have kept her on a perfect size bike for her age. She went through a 14”, a 16””, and a 20”. All bikes single speeds. Finding a 20” Mtn bike that has an appropriate chainring size and a rear cluster that has a good climbing gog is tough. Throw in on top the bike should not weigh more than 1/3 of her body weight, which is 55lbs. The Trail Craft 20” fit the bill perfectly. Lightest geared 20” out there, and best climbing ratio drivetrain as well.
Couldn’t be happier. I will buy the 24” as well when she is ready for it.
    Thanks TC

Bike showed up super well packaged. It’s a quality piece. Nice and lightweight and my kid loves it. Only a few rides in but I would say it’s a success and really makes a difference for their little bodies. It’s expensive but worth it especially if you can hand it down to the next kid. It’s refreshing to buy something that is serviceable and will stand the test of time. Would buy again.

My son loves this bike and I do too. Hi quality construction and easy to assemble out of the box (if I can do it, anyone can). My son is 7 and on the smaller side, so it’s great to have a lighter bike, we have only done a few rides but already been on rides 7+ miles and feel like we are just scratching the surface of what we can do and where we can go. If you want to get out there on trails with your kid, get this bike!

Trailcraft put this bike on sale, a week or so after I bought it and happily credited me the discount. They were very easy to deal with, and a great small business to support. I expect to be a repeat customer when my son eventually needs a larger bike.

I bought this bike in hopes my daughter would like Mountain Biking. Due to its super lite frame and the geo fits is designed with kids in mind , we have been having a blast and both loving the sport. Buy one and thank me later.

I purchased a Trailcraft bike for my granddaughters 6th birthday. I reached out to their team on fit, availability, and delivery time. I would rate their service and support a 10! This was the best experience I have had buying a bike. I highly recommend the folks at Trailcraft Cycles. In addition to their outstanding support their bikes are industry leader for kids bike.
